Anniversary Photography Colorado with Bethany & Whaley at Sapphire Point in Breckenridge

It was a pleasure to do anniversary photography of Bethany & Whaley during their 16th wedding celebration in Colorado. They do a trip every year to celebrate another year of marriage, and this year they decided to come to Colorado. Whaley went to school here many years ago and the hadn’t been back since.

Anniversary Photography in the mountains

They both love the mountains and thought it would be fun to do couples photography in Colorado while they were here. During their wedding, 16 years ago, they didn’t have many photos taken of them. Bethany wanted to recreate some of those images with an anniversary portrait session.

Bethany wore a beautiful white dress with intricate bead work. Whaley was dressed sharply in slacks and a black shirt. They were so sweet with each other. We talked as we took images and walked along the trail. The weather was sunny and warm.

Showing the love & joy

It was fun to document this occasion with photos, especially since they didn’t have many images of the two of them from their wedding. Bethany told me she wanted the photos to show how they interact with each other and their love for one another. These are some of my favorite images to photograph, portraits of couples in a candid and playful way.

At one point, I told Whaley to “attack” her with love. He was so gentle and sweet about it. He told me after 16 years of marriage he knows to be gentle even when he’s messing with her a little bit.

Thanks for entrusting me to capture portraits for you on your anniversary. I’m so glad we were able to connect. I’m also glad Whaley kind of liked the whole experience, especially since photo shoots are not his favorite thing. It looked like you two had an amazing trip. I loved the photos of the mountain goats. I hope your trip next year is a good one!
