Unique Wedding Venues in Colorado – Mother Cabrini Shrine with Kali & Yates

Mother Cabrini Shrine is one of the most unique wedding venues in Colorado that I’ve shot a wedding at. Kali & Yates chose to have their wedding here a few months ago. They had a few things that were important to them when choosing a wedding venue. They wanted something that was based around their Catholic religion and they wanted the beauty of nature as well. This unique wedding venue in Colorado checked both of those boxes.

Stairway of Prayer

Its a small catholic church that sits on the foothills of Golden, Colorado. The church is surrounded by a number of beautiful gardens with peaceful pathways and benches to sit and rest. A steep stairway leads up to the top of the hillside from one of the gardens to a twenty-two foot statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The view on the way up the stairs looks out across the foothills to Golden and the City of Denver. At the very top of the stairs beautiful views also extend in all directions including the mountains to the west.

Kali & Yates had a traditional Catholic wedding at Mother Cabrini Shrine and then a casual reception at Two Penguins Tap & Grill in Centennial afterwards. This being one of the most unique wedding venues in Colorado, we made sure to spend time throughout the grounds for portraits after the ceremony. It was fun to wander through all the gardens and climb part way up the stairs. My favorite spot was a small trail that we followed from the steep stairway. Kali & Yates were good sports and up for a small hike to get there. At that spot, there was a large boulder and views showing off rolling hills and trees in the distance.
