I was the Colorado intimate wedding photographer for Rebecca & Thomas during their backyard wedding in Denver. They decided to do the wedding at Thomas’ parent’s house who had a good size back yard where they could set up both the ceremony and reception. It was adorable and intimate with a small group of close family and friends. They set up an area on their patio and lawn for the ceremony and then rented a tent for the reception where they had dinner. Everything came together beautifully.

About Rebecca & Thomas

Rebecca and Thomas met each other through school and church. They found they had a lot in common with their faith and also that they were both working on their PHDs. They live in Chicago but came back to Denver for the wedding. Thomas grew up in Denver and they wanted to be able to celebrate close to family. On the day of the wedding, they decided not to see each other before the ceremony. So Rebecca got ready at a nearby hotel while Thomas got ready at his parent’s house. I captured a few shots with Rebecca and her parents at the hotel before coming over to the house to meet up with Thomas and then capture the rest of the wedding.

Capturing the Moments as a Colorado Intimate Wedding Photographer

There can be a lot of benefits to having a smaller wedding. Being a Colorado intimate wedding photographer gives me the chance to capture more candids of guests and spend a little more time with the couple. In Rebecca and Thomas’s case, we decided to travel over at Cherry Creek State Park for portraits. It was nice to have a little more time for travel to go there, even though it was a short drive. Another thing that saved us a bit of time was that Rebecca and Thomas decided to not have a wedding party. So instead of having to make time for those photos we spent more time together at the park doing portraits. When we came back to the house Rebecca and Thomas jumped into dinner, toasts and dancing. With an intimate reception like theirs it also allowed me to capture photos of everyone that attended.
