Surprise Proposal Photographer Colorado

Surprise Proposal Photographer Colorado with Harris and Ashley on the top of a Ski Resort

Being a surprise proposal photographer in Colorado is super fun! I get a lot of joy working with clients during the whole process. There’s a lot of excitement and anticipation with those who are popping the question. And as a photographer I really enjoy helping people. Being a surprise proposal photographer I can do that and really make it special for these couples. For Harris and Ashley, he really wanted to pick a spot with some amazing mountain views. So we decided to ride the gondola and meet up at the top of Aspen mountain.

Setting up a picnic with champagne

Harris wanted to incorporate their dog in this photo session and also have a picnic for Ashley. We picked a location that was about a mile hike from the gondola to meet. Harris and I coordinated so that I would pick up the picnic materials beforehand at the front desk of the hotel they stayed at. He packed together a charcuterie board, a picnic blanket, champagne and ice, and a special note to Ashley. I picked it up about and headed to the gondola. When I got onboard the gondola, I texted Harris letting him know that it was time for them to come towards the mountain.

As a Surprise Proposal Photographer in Colorado Sometimes Things Don’t Go Exactly as Planned

When Harris and Ashley got to the top of the mountain, Ashley was hungry. She didn’t know anything about the charcuterie board that Harris put together and he couldn’t tell her. So she asked to stop at the cafe at the top of the mountain for a snack. So they arrived a little later than we anticipated to the meeting spot. Harris and I were able to text each other so I knew what was going on. And I ended up waiting a little bit longer in a beautiful place and just enjoyed the view. Later, after he proposed it was a running joke between them that she wanted to stop for chicken fingers.

Popping the Question

I set up the picnic blanket with the champagne and the card that Harris wrote for her so she could see it. And then set some rocks on top of the card so it wouldn’t blow away. As they showed up walking their dog, Ashley at first walked the other direction. She saw me with my camera and tripod “taking landscape photos” and didn’t want to get in the way. But then Harris gently brought her over to the picnic blanket and showed her that there was a card with her name on it. He dropped to one knee around the picnic blanket and she was super surprised.

Thanks Harris and Ashley

Harris and Ashley, it was such a pleasure to share in this surprise with you. I hope you two had a wonderful trip through Colorado on your way to the East Coast. It was fun to capture mountain engagement photos with you two and your dog. Thanks for being adventurous with me and hiking out to that beautiful view. I hope you two are doing well, congratulations again!
