Aspen Proposal Ideas – Photography of this surprise proposal near the Sundeck on Aspen Mountain Ski Resort
This was one of the most fun Aspen proposal ideas I’ve been part of. Aaron connected with me at the start of the year looking for help to plan his surprise proposal and capture it with professional photography. Aaron and Teassa, his soon to be fiance would be a on a trip visiting Aspen. His thought was to ride the gondola to the top of the ski resort in summer and pop the question up there.
Aspen Proposal Ideas – Including the family
But that’s not the only thing he had planned. He also invited family from both his side and Teassa’s side to join in the celebration. The trick was to keep them hidden till the right time. Because they were all staying in the same town, he didn’t want to run into anyone on accident. So, he texted family members letting them know when it was safe to go out.
Setting up a Proposal Location Meeting Spot
We set up a meeting spot for Aaron to propose. The sundeck on the Aspen Mountain Ski Resort is beautiful, but its also a busy location. Due to that, we decided to meet on one of the nearby trails that starts around the Sundeck. That way there was less people but the view was still amazing. I pretended to be taking landscape photos when Aaron and Teassa arrived.
Proposing on the top of the Aspen Mountain Ski Resort
The views in all directions on the top of the Aspen Mountain Ski Resort are stunning. It was an amazing spot to propose. As a photographer, I felt a little like a kid in a candy shop because everything was so pretty! Aaron and I had set up a signal, where he would hug her before dropping to one knee. As they hugged I started to snap photos of them.
When I later introduced myself, we talked and I asked if she knew. She told me she had an idea it was coming but just wasn’t exactly sure when it was going to happen. I think the biggest surprise for Teassa came after they rode the gondola down the mountain. They went to a brewery to grab a beer and celebrate. Little did she know, a bunch of their closest family was already in the brewery along with myself, waiting for them to arrive. It was such a sweet moving gesture to include family in this celebration! The whole time I was shooting, I couldn’t help but smile.
Thanks Aaron & Teassa
Aaron, this was so fun to be part of! Thanks for entrusting me to capture this moment for you and Teassa and moments from the celebrations that followed. This will be a fun story to tell within your family and friends for years to come. Much love to you both and congratulations!!
