Boulder Country Club Wedding – The Venue & WeatherÂ
Cat an Eric’s Boulder Country Club wedding turned out to be a beautiful winter day. The day before the temperature was in the teens. So I was super thankful when it ended up being around 40 degrees on the day of their wedding. Cat was hoping for some snow. Instead we got the next best thing, a lovely sunny day. The Boulder Country Club is a great wedding venue in Boulder, Colorado. For instance, the venue is situated in the middle of the Gunbarrel neighborhood where there are a lot of options for photography. We took photographs on the golf course itself and in the surrounding areas of green space in the Gunbarrel neighborhood.
First Look & Wedding Party PortraitsÂ
Cat, Eric and I talked prior to the wedding about doing photographs at a small pond near the venue. So I went to go check things out beforehand to ensure things ran smoothly. Everyone got ready inside the Country Club. Then afterwards, we all walked over to the nearby pond for photos. It was just a short jaunt through the neighborhood. Large willow and pine trees bordered the pond creating a lovely backdrop for their wedding photography. Because it was winter, Cat made these amazing shawls for the ladies and herself to stay warm while we were outside doing photos. They were functional and stylish. Such a cute idea!
Wedding Ceremony DetailsÂ
Due to the time of year, the ceremony was inside the Boulder Country Club. Following the wedding party, Cat & Eric walked each other down the aisle in Scandinavian style. The backdrop to the ceremony was a panel of large glass windows showing off views of the mountains and the golf course. In Colorado you can marry yourselves, so that’s exactly what Cat and Eric did. They had some beautiful readings from their friends and family and created their own vows as well. Their entire wedding was very fun and unique.
Fun Things that stick out in my mind from their wedding day
Cat and Eric really made this Boulder Country Club wedding their own. Eric and his mom’s first dance was to a goofy version of the hookie pookie that had different types of beverages incorporated into the choreography. Dinosaurs adorned the centers of tables in the reception area. Also, there was a drinking race between the bride and groom with a chalice that had been passed down through generations. It was basically rigged against the groom.  They raced to see who could drink the fastest. It was said that whoever wins, rules the house. Of course Cat won!
Thanks Cat & Eric!Â
Cat & Eric, it was such a pleasure to be included in your wedding as the photographer. You two are so fun and sweet! I enjoyed photographing the whole day and documenting your love story. Cat, I hope you are indeed ruling the house and continue to do so. I wish you two so much love and happiness as you go into this new chapter of your lives. I look forward to seeing you two soon for an anniversary session and Eric’s glitter beard! 🙂
