Why Boettcher Mansion Is Perfect for a Mountain Wedding Near Denver

I first met Jacob when he hired me to photograph his surprise proposal. So it was extra special to later be invited back to document his wedding day with Christine. When it came time to choose a venue, they knew they wanted something close to Denver. With that in mind, Jacob and Christine wanted a location that still felt outdoorsy, rustic, and connected to the mountains.

Boettcher Mansion was the perfect fit. Located in Golden, Colorado, this historic venue offers mountain scenery, natural surroundings, and a rustic vibe—all without requiring a long drive for guests.

A Day Focused on Faith, Connection, and Celebration

Jacob and Christine met through church and had known each other for about three years before getting engaged. As their relationship grew, they discovered a shared love for climbing, which brought them even closer together. Their shared love for their faith and the outdoors was part of their love story. This definitely showed through during their wedding.

For their Boettcher Mansion wedding, the moments that mattered most to them photography-wise were: capturing their choreographed first dance and documenting a group prayer, both before and during the ceremony. These moments reflected their faith, their community, joy, and the foundation of their relationship.

Wedding Day Photography at Boettcher Mansion

We chose a six-hour wedding photography package, which allowed plenty of time to capture the final touches of getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, and part of the reception. It was a beautiful summer day with clear blue skies and mountain views surrounding the venue.

From their carefully planned first dance to candid moments with family and friends, the day was full of genuine emotion and joy. Being able to document both the quiet, meaningful moments and the lively celebration afterward made this wedding especially fun to photograph.
