Estes Park Photographer – Capturing Brittany, Andrew and family at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
I always feel super excited and blessed to be able to be an Estes Park photographer. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot! For this portrait session, I met up with Brittany, her fiance Andrew, her two kids and nephew at Bear Lake. We did a mix of photographs to include the whole family and then just the kids, and just Brittany and Andrew.
Proposing in the middle of Bear Lake
Andrew proposed to Brittany during the winter in the middle of Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. The ice hardens over in the winter and you can easily walk out to the middle of the lake. I’m sure it was a beautiful snowy backdrop as he dropped to one knee on the ice.
So when they decided to do engagement photos, Bear Lake was a fitting location. Its really easy to access and offers views of the surrounding mountains peaking out through the trees. It even offers a lovely forested area that surrounds the lake. As well as a wide variety of trails that start from that location.
Tips from an Estes Park Photographer
It was a busy weekend during the time we met. Because of that, we took our time. Throughout the photography session we let other people who were enjoying the lake walk through and then continued to take photos. Take a tip from this Estes Park photographer: if you think the park is going to be busy, give yourself some extra time. When visiting Bear Lake, you can park at the Glacier Basin Campground and take the shuttle up to Bear Lake so you don’t have to worry about parking.
Thanks Brittany & Andrew!
Brittany & Andrew, thanks for including me in this moment and trusting me to capture this exciting time for you. Brittany, it was a pleasure to meet your kids. Its exciting that your family is growing in new ways with you and Andrew getting married. I wish you all the best, congrats!
