“We’ve got to travel and do another trip” we often say to each other, my husband Craig and I. Its easy to get caught up in the monotony of day to day life spending time on things that are necessary but not of value to fuel our hearts and souls. Something that’s always strengthened our love for life and for each other, is travel and adventures. Big and small, they’ve helped fuel the fire in our relationship and given us more zest for life.
In this series I’d like to share with you some of my favorite adventures I’ve had with my husband, and with this post I want to share our trip to Ten Sleep, Wyoming.

Travel to Ten Sleep, Wyoming – First Impressions
We took this trip a couple years ago and I’ve been meaning to go back ever since we left. My husband, myself and our cat Ashes were all packed into the car driving through the mountains and forest of Wyoming. Probably the thing that stands out most, is I remember turning a corner to head downhill and the landscape changed drastically. As we turned, a wide canyon opened up below us with bands of beautiful rock formations on either side. The highway was like a winding snake moving through the center of the canyon. With every new turn it was more of the same amazing rock features to the right and to the left. Turnouts dotted the highway next to climbing trails that led up to the different areas. It all looked so fun and it got me super excited to be there!
Camping and Climbing
If you haven’t guessed yet, this was a rock climbing/camping trip. At the time I was feeling pretty strong and excited to get on the climbing routes. I was also humbled by that landscape. It made me feel so small and it gave me a sense of quiet peace in my heart. The campground was at the bottom of the canyon, just outside the actual town of Ten Sleep.
We met up with some other friends and stayed for about a week. Because we had a hard time finding someone to watch our cat, we brought her along as our adventure kitty. Despite her being a cat on a camping trip, she did great! It was so refreshing to have 2 main things to worry about. What fun routes are we going to climb on today? What are we going to eat for dinner?
I Want to Go Back
The climbing routes were super fun! I would highly recommend this place. The camping was in a wooded area that was very peaceful. Also the town is a short drive from the campground with a fun little brewery. As I’m writing about this place, it just makes me want to go back. Life has been a little crazy lately for both my husband and I. We haven’t been able to go travel and explore as much as we’d like. Certainly I hope to make some time this year for more fun trips like this. I encourage you to light the fire with your own relationships and make time for a new adventure or travel too whatever that might be and see where life takes you!
Thanks for reading a little more about me and taking the time to get to know me better. If you’re interested in capturing your adventure with photography, don’t hesitate to contact me to see how I might be able to help.
