A Loveland Pass Elopement in Colorado with Jeanie & Scott

Jeanie and Scott chose a Loveland Pass elopement for its sweeping mountain views, easy access, and natural beauty. Wanting a simple, meaningful ceremony surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged vows along the Continental Divide with the Colorado mountains as their backdrop.

A Simple and Meaningful Mountain Elopement

In their early 50s, Jeanie and Scott were planning a second marriage and knew they wanted to keep things simple and fun. Their vision for the day was clear: no chairs, no decorations, and no wedding party—just the two of them, their loved ones, and the natural beauty of Colorado.

After their mountain ceremony, they planned to celebrate with an intimate reception at a brewery in Breckenridge, making the day both relaxed and personal.

Planning a Loveland Pass Elopement in Colorado

When we began planning their Loveland Pass elopement, accessibility was an important factor. They wanted a location that offered mountain views, trees, and possible fall colors, without requiring a long hike. Some of their family members had mobility considerations, so staying close to a parking area or trailhead was key.

We initially considered Blue Lakes near Breckenridge, but after scouting the location, it became clear that heavy crowds and limited parking would make it challenging. From there, we explored other options and ultimately chose Pass Lakes along Loveland Pass.

A Ceremony at Pass Lakes Along Loveland Pass

Pass Lakes is open to the public, which can be both a benefit and a challenge when planning an elopement. Fortunately, we were lucky to have the area to ourselves during the ceremony.

We found a flat spot near a small rock outcropping overlooking the lake, with expansive mountain views in every direction. A family member officiated as Jeanie and Scott exchanged vows, with friends and family gathered closely around them. The setting felt intimate, peaceful, and incredibly meaningful.

Portraits Along the Continental Divide

After the ceremony, we explored the area around Pass Lakes for portraits. This Loveland Pass elopement location sits along the Continental Divide, which means the scenery is truly breathtaking.
