Boulder Wedding at Sunrise Amphitheater & Pearl Street Restaurant Reception at The Kitchen

Boulder wedding portrait at Lost Gulch Overlook

I love being a Boulder wedding photographer because I have the pleasure of capturing weddings like this intimate celebration with Julie & Dewey. They came together with a small group of family and friends and did an outdoor ceremony at Sunrise Amphitheater. Then they rented out the event space at The Kitchen which is a restaurant on Pearl Street for dinner and drinks.

They were so excited to have everyone get together on this day to celebrate. So they rented a large Airbnb in Golden, where they could all stay together. The Airbnb was also a great spot to get ready at before the big day. And it was just a short 25 minute drive into Boulder.

Some details that they incorporated into their day included paper bags with electric candles. The bags had hearts cut out of them so that the light would shine through. Julie really liked this idea of these as lanterns, but it didn’t get dark till after we left the amphitheater. They still looked super cute lining the aisle where she walked down. And fans with their date printed on them in case it got hot.

Boulder Wedding Photographer Location Suggestions

I suggested a few locations nearby for portraits and we decided on going to Lost Gulch Overlook before the ceremony. As a Boulder wedding photographer, I offer help with finding places to go for great photos. Boulder has some beautiful scenery and a lot of fun options to choose from within a short drive. Lost Gulch Overlook was a perfect place for us. It has some expansive mountain views and is just a short 10 minute drive from Sunrise Amphitheater.

Doing a Small Wedding Party

Julie and Dewey decided to do a super small wedding party for their ceremony. They had one person each stand beside them as they said their vows, a best man & maid of honor. A flower girl started off the procession and they also had an officiant who helped them with their vows. Julie and Dewey were both a little older with grown kids of their own. So Julie walked down the aisle by herself. It was a touching and intimate celebration!
