Dream Lake Engagement Photos with Jennifer and Matt

Check out these Dream Lake engagement photos from Jennifer & Matt’s photography session in Rocky Mountain National Park last fall. Dream Lake is a popular hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. Its a wonderful spot for portraits with a beautiful small alpine lake surrounded by rugged mountain peaks. The hike gains some elevation but its not too steep. Jennifer and Matt are both pretty active people so they kept a good pace as we headed up to the lake. Sometimes the elevation here can get to people, especially for those not used to it. But these two were hiking pros. Jennifer even tackled the trail in her skirt and adorable yellow flats.

Taking photos along the way

Rocky Mountain National Park is a gorgeous park. We stopped in various places along the trail to take photographs as we hiked up to the lake. The hike to the lake is about a mile from the trailhead. Along the way is Bear Lake and Nymph lake which is a little smaller. There is also a spot along the trail with some stunning views of the mountain range and the valley below. Jennifer and Matt were both easy going people and up for stopping multiple times as we captured different vantage points.

About Jennifer and Matt

Jennifer and Matt are doing a summer wedding this year in Rocky Mountain National Park so we decided to do their engagement session there as well. They met working with the Forest Service as biologists. Because they both love nature and the outdoors Rocky Mountain National Park seemed like a great fit for their wedding ceremony location and engagement session.

Dream Lake Engagement Photos in the Fall

The colors were starting to change around the park which made for some really gorgeous Dream Lake engagement photos. There’s a spot right below the lake that’s a great photo op with a tiny waterfall. We stopped there and the colors were so vibrant with yellows and bright greens. Fall in Rocky Mountain National Park is a special place. We lucked out with capturing the fall colors and also having some great weather during our hike.
