Eloping in Colorado at Maroon Bells with Rachel and Rob

Eloping in Colorado at Maroon Bells

Thinking about eloping in Colorado? Check out Rachel and Rob’s story and how they eloped at Maroon Bells. Rachel and Rob were looking for a scenic place to say their vows and picked Maroon Bells as their spot. We ended up doing about a couple hours of photography which included a short hike, finding a place to say their vows and a portrait session. Because it was just the three of us and all we we had planned were vows and portraits, we didn’t need a special permit for their elopement at Maroon Bells.

About Rachel and Rob

Rachel and Rob decided the way they wanted to celebrate their marriage was to make a weekend trip out of it. Initially they were going to have a big wedding in New York with family and friends but then the pandemic complicated things. So they created a new plan. Their vision was to have a quiet beautiful place to say their vows, take portraits in a scenic landscape and then enjoy a relaxing weekend together with their dog. Their dog did not make an appearance for photos. Although I’m totally open to having photo sessions with dogs, they thought it might be a little too difficult with their pup. So they all enjoyed a quiet evening together at the hotel after getting together with me at Maroon Bells.

Eloping in Colorado

In Colorado, you can marry yourselves which makes eloping super easy. Eloping can come in all types of styles ranging from a small group with a ceremony and reception, to planning out adventurous activities and saying vows on trail, to having a quiet celebration with just the two of you. Rachel and Rob decided they wanted to elope with just the two of them. Rob’s isn’t a big hiker but they wanted some beautiful scenery. So Maroon Bells was a great fit for them. The area is gorgeous and the trail is an easy walk so Rob didn’t have to hike very far. We picked a smaller less traveled trail in a sea of aspen trees for them to say their vows. And then did portraits around the more iconic mountain views of maroon bells. See more information about eloping in Colorado from Nichole Emerson Photography

Thanks Rachel and Rob

Rachel and Rob, thanks for including me in this moment and trusting me to capture this time for your two. I know the summer fires made things more difficult and we had to change plans a few times, but it all worked out. I hope you two had a wonderful weekend getaway. It was super fun to hike around the area and capture portraits of you. Sending warm thoughts and well wishes to you two!
