Breckenridge Engagement Photographer with Riley and Tanner at Sapphire Point & Lake Dillon
It was a pleasure to be the Breckenridge engagement photographer for Riley and Tanner as they did a destination wedding to Colorado. They came out from Oklahoma and both love the mountains. Riley and Tanner wanted a spot for their wedding that they could make a vacation out of and spend time in the mountains. The Breckenridge area was a location that Riley had never been to before. She was excited to explore the area and do the wedding there.
Picking a Ceremony Location
Riley and Tanner really wanted a mountain backdrop for their wedding. At first they choose Sapphire Point as their ceremony location, but then the pandemic started. As restrictions got worse, Sapphire Point was shut off for ceremony reservations. They were able to book a time at the Lake Dillon Marina Park Pavilion instead. The Pavilion turned out to be a wonderful location, but they still liked the look of Sapphire Point. So as we were talking about locations for the engagement photos, we decided to choose Sapphire Point. Which gave them the chance to have photos from both places.
Breckenridge Engagement Photographer at Sapphire Point
Sapphire point ended up closing ceremonies and reservations but was still open to engagement portrait sessions. I love being a Breckenridge engagement photographer. The area has so many beautiful places to take photos. I met up with Riley and Tanner for their engagement photos when they traveled out to the area before the wedding to do some location scouting. We started at Sapphire Point and then headed down to the shores of Lake Dillon for a few more portraits afterwards.
As we took photos they shared a little more about their lives with me. Riley and Tanner went to elementary school together. But since he was a year older then her, they didn’t talk much when they were younger. Later on in college they reconnected and started dating. Its always fun to hear how people met and got together. You never know where you’re going to meet the love of your life. When it came to the proposal, Tanner really made it special and set up a time to swim with the dolphins. Riley loves dolphins, so this was a super fun activity and an amazing surprise. When we met up for photos, they brought a glass dolphin with them as well that we did some engagement ring photos with.
Thanks Riley and Tanner
Riley and Tanner, thanks so much for including me in this big moment in your lives and entrusting me to capture these memories for you. I had a wonderful time taking engagement portraits with you two! It was fun to hike around Sapphire Point and Lake Dillon. I can’t wait to share more images later on about your wedding also. Sending love and well wishes to you two.
