Boulder Engagement Photos at Brainard Lake with Brittney and Brandon
These Boulder engagement photos were a reshoot from a previous very cold windy morning. When we discussed doing a reshoot, Brittney and Brandon decided they wanted to do a mountain portrait session in the summer. We decided on a different location for our second portrait session. Which turned out to be a beautiful day, the complete opposite of our first meeting.
Brainard Lake Engagement Photos
We choose Brainard Lake as our portrait location which is about an hour outside of Boulder in the Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forest. It’s a beautiful alpine lake nestled in the mountains with many different trails and lovely areas along the lake shore. The summer operating season here is late June through October. Sometimes it can get really windy, but we lucked out with a calm warm day. They even got into the lake for a few shots at the end of this session. Brainard Lake is a great spot for Boulder engagement photos. It feels remote but its not that far of a drive from downtown Boulder.
Complications with the pandemic
Like a lot of couples, Brittney and Brandon planned on having their wedding this year and then pushed back the date because of the pandemic. This year has been so unpredictable and I know it’s been hard on everyone. I feel grateful in the midst of it all that I was able to spend some time with Brittney and Brandon and at least capture some beautiful engagement photos and have some fun with them while doing so.
Thanks Brittney & Brandon
Brittney & Brandon, it was a pleasure to meet back up with you again for this engagement session at Brainard Lake. I’m glad that you have a variety of memories from both engagement sessions and that the latter one was way warmer. I hope as things calm down with the pandemic you can make some more concrete plans for your celebration. Thanks for entrusting me to capture this time in your lives. Stay safe and healthy. Sending love and well wishes!
