Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Photos with Katie & Riley at Dream Lake
Its rained a lot this year. That being said, it rained on us for almost the entirety of this shoot. But we made the most of it. Katie & Riley just arrived from Missouri shortly before this trip. They came to attend a friend’s wedding. They had recently gotten engaged themselves and wanted to do engagement photos in Rocky Mountain National Park while they were here. And it just happened to rain on the day we set aside for our photo shoot. So, our portrait session was rainy, but we had fun.
Rainy Engagement Photos in Rocky Mountain National Park
They were troopers and wanted to hike back to Dream Lake even though it was raining. It was completely worth it too! Even though the rain kept falling as we hiked, it was beautiful!! We even caught some moments here and there when the rain stopped. I brought an umbrella which Katie used mostly. Riley was a true gentleman and continued to have a super positive attitude as he got soaked through the whole photography session.
Hiking up to Dream Lake for Engagement Photos
We planned to hike up to Dream Lake for engagement photos and then reassess. I wasn’t sure what the trail conditions were going to be like and also wanted to check in and see how we were all feeling. We got so much late snow this year that there was still some pretty large snow packs around Dream Lake. So we decided to make that our final destination. Rocky Mountain National Park is such a stunning place. The area around Dream Lake and Bear lake are super accessible making it a great spot for engagement photos.
Thanks Katie & Riley!
Katie & Riley, thanks for picking me to go on this adventure with the two of you to celebrate your engagement! It was challenging and fun. You two are super cute together and I’m so excited for you. Thanks for braving the elements and having fun with it. Much love to you two, congrats!
