Boulder CO Engagement Photography with Reilly & Mikey at South Mesa Trailhead

It was my pleasure to do a Boulder CO Engagement photography session with Reilly and Mikey. We did the session outdoors at the South Mesa Trailhead. THis is one of my favorite spots! This spot offers some great mountain views just a short distance from the parking lot. During the winter its less colorful than other season, but still really pretty.

Their Proposal Story

Mikey planned to propose at a lake outdoors. When it came time to ask the question, Riley wasn’t super excited to get out of the car and stand outside. It was snowy and cold. Mikey planned to propose to Reilly while up in Rocky Mountain National Park and eventually got her to leave the car.

But when Mikey got down on one knee and Reilly was so distracted by the cold she didn’t even see what was happening. He convinced her to stay for a little while after some persuasion and questions about why they were there. He finally got her attention by bringing out the ring and of course she said yes.

Dogs at this Boulder CO Engagement Photography Session

Reilly & Mikey brought along their golden retriever Sukie. I mean what’s Boulder without a dog, right? Sukie was a sweet and comedic addition to our session. She sat and posed for a few photos. Then she stared at us with a sad sweet face when we did some photos without her. She was a very well behaved dog during this Boulder CO engagement photography session. We tied her to some trees to do some photos of just Reilly and Mikey and she didn’t put up a fuss at all.

At one point their clean cute dog ran into a muddy stream before we took some photos. Then the wind came through and made it a little chilly. We continued on taking photos and having fun knowing that was just going to be part of the authenticity of the day.

Reilly & Mikey, I’m so happy for you guys as you start this new chapter in your lives! Thanks for trusting me to capture this moment for you two. Both of you had such a kind and joyful attitude. It was a pleasure working with you. You are adorable together! I wish you much happiness and more fun adventures in snow and sunshine in the future!!
