Colorado Mountain Engagement Photos with Audra & Brian at Golden Gate Canyon State Park
We caught the end of the changing colors for these Colorado mountain engagement photos with Audra & Brian. We scheduled this engagement session for October, hoping that we would catch the peak of fall foliage. And then we got some early snow which knocked down a lot of the leaves that had started to change.
You have to be flexible. That’s one thing I’ve learned doing Colorado mountain engagement photos. The spot we had picked out originally had this beautiful tunnel of aspens that I was really excited about. After that snowfall I went to go take a look at the area. I was worried about the snow being a problem. And of course the tunnel of changing aspens I envisioned were all bare. So I spent some time searching nearby areas in the park and we came up with a different plan.
Engagement photos with their dog Dagny
I’m a total animal lover. So anytime I’m able to incorporate furry family members into a photography session, I get excited. Dagny was Audra’s dog before Brian came along. Audra wanted to incorporate a sign into their shoot with that in mind that said “I loved her first”. Brian told me that Audra’s dog didn’t really warm to him completely as he continued to stick around. But I did catch them cuddling a little bit during this engagement photo session. Their dog was very well behaved and jumped in and out of photos as we walked around to some different areas.
Audra and Brian were a lot of fun! We got to know each other a little more as we took photos. I learned that Brian, who loves BBQing, has narrowed his collection down to 3 grills. He told me they are all for very specific functions. Its always fun to learn more about something that people are passionate about. These two are laid back individuals who love to camp, adventure and grill.
Colorado Mountain Engagement Photos at Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Golden Gate Canyon State Park is a great location for engagement photos. There are a number of different trails there. Its about 45 minutes outside of downtown Denver. And sections of the park offer some great mountain views looking out to the west. There’s also some quiet meadows with tall grasses surrounded by aspen and pine trees. Its a really beautiful place!
Thanks Audra & Brian
Audra & Brian, thanks for wandering around Golden Gate Canyon State Park with me for these Colorado mountain engagement photos. It was a lot of fun! I’m excited to meet back up with you in November to photograph your wedding. Much love to you two and see you soon.
