Colorado intimate wedding saying their vows

It was my pleasure to be the elopement photographer for Shadie and Levi during their trip to Colorado this past fall. They wanted this time to be just for them, so they drove out from West Virginia together to get married at the courthouse.

Coordinating the elopement photography

Shadie and I coordinated before the trip. Since they were coming from out of town, they asked for suggestions on locations. She wanted to do some photos around the mountains somewhere with a view. So we agreed to head to a couple spots in Boulder after meeting at their hotel. They decided to save their vows for when we met so we could capture photos of their reactions.

Unpredictable weather

Colorado weather is unpredictable. Although there are many days of sunshine here, the day that we met was unfortunately rainy and foggy, all day. They were headed back to West Virginia the following day so we made the most of what we had to work with. I met them at their hotel in Golden. Because of the weather, we decided to find a quiet spot indoors for them to say their vows to each other.

Elopement photographer – portraits in mountains

We took some photos around the hotel and then headed up to the mountains around Boulder. We used umbrellas intermittently to help with the rain and cold while we walked along the trail taking photos. Shadie and Levi were so cute together, sweet and loving. It was an honor to share in this intimate wedding and trip that they planned for just the two of them. Due to the rain and clouds, we weren’t able to catch the mountain views. But the most important thing was the two of them. And we got a lot of joyful photos celebrating this moment in their lives.
