When Cory planned his proposal to Samantha, he knew it had to be somewhere meaningful—and unforgettable. Their choice? Red Rocks Park near Morrison, a place that had already shaped their relationship with its iconic red rock formations and Colorado mountain views. Along a quiet trail away from the crowds Cory got down on one knee. This Red Rocks proposal story is a celebration of love, scenery, and memories that tell the story of their relationship.

A Proposal with a View: Cory & Samantha at Red Rocks
Cory and Samantha traveled from Missouri to Colorado for a special trip. Early in their relationship, they visited Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater and saw a concert there. It really solidified their relationship—so when it came time for Cory to propose, he knew exactly where it had to be.
He wanted the moment to be intimate, scenic and meaningful. With a little planning, we found a quiet spot along the Red Rocks Trail, away from the crowds of the amphitheater. The location had stunning views of the red rock formations and just the right amount of privacy.
The Proposal
Cory led Samantha on a short hike, telling her it was just a casual walk before brunch. I arrived early, so I could get ahead of them on the trail. Then I hung out around our meeting spot, pretending to be just another hiker.
As they walked towards me, they stopped for a selfie in the spot that Cory and I had picked out in advance. With the dramatic red rock features behind them, Cory got down on one knee and popped the question. Samantha said yes, surrounded by Colorado’s iconic landscape in a place that was super meaningful for them. It was a place they had visited early in their relationship, a shared memory that made this proposal uniquely theirs.
Engagement Portraits Afterwards
Afterwards, we celebrated with a bottle of champagne and captured portraits along the trail. We also drove to a few nearby places within Red Rocks to add some more variety to their engagement portraits. Which included part of the road with a unique rock tunnel and some different views of the rock formations near the Trading Post (where its typically more crowded).
Since it was a warm fall day, the park was really busy with hikers and people checking out the amphitheater. It was nice to take portraits after the proposal moment in those busier areas. And I’m also glad we picked the trail we did for the proposal moment so we could have a high degree of privacy at the start of our session.
The combination of natural beauty, privacy, and personal significance made their Red Rocks proposal Story unforgettable
